Cousins, IIyod aka Big L and Ugonna

I am sure by now most of you have watched the video of the brutal beating death of the four University of Port Harcourt students – Ugonna, Ilyod, Tekana and Chidiaka, by the indigenes of Aluu community in Port Harcourt. If you haven’t watched the video, please don’t bother. It’s the most gruesome and the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen. It will break your heart.

Now I’m convinced that we have lost our souls as humans. The youths of this nation did this. People’s children. Beaten till they were unconscious, then set on fire. They said they were robbers…were they really? Even if they were, is this how to treat another human being? Are we this barbaric in this country?

Two of them were even cousins. Ugonna and IIyod. Both of them were upcoming rappers. Big L was the winner of a popular Rap Contest show on SilverbirdTV PH called ‘Turb Show’.

We the youths of this country demand that the River State Government look into this matter and arrest everyone in that video. Except the government want to tell us that they have given the youths of Aluu power to arrest and kill indiscriminately.

The Rivers government MUST make a scapegoat of the people who did this so it doesn’t repeat itself. Next time, it could be my brother or your brother. My child or your child! We can’t let this happen again.

So let’s start a campaign #justiceforaluu4 until the Rivers States government does something about this!

NOTE:- Any person who comment stupidly supporting this act, your comment will be blocked. Because i don’t see any point commenting to support something bad.;  supporting people who feel so cool taking another’s life without conscience.

  1. I was shocked and despaired beyond words when I first read the story, and then was absolutely shattered when I saw the videos. Where has our humanity gone to in this country? They were accused of stealing, yet, in all the pictures and videos I saw, the allegedly stolen items were conspicuously missing. Not even a single person among the crowd could stand up for reason and commonsense to defend these guys. Even if they were criminals, that is no way to treat their case.

The people who killed them are no different from the alleged perception of those boys – murderers!! I wonder how any half-decent human being can even manage to sleep at night after witnessing first-hand, that heinous crime, not to talk of partaking in it. There is a great need for proper orientation for Nigerians on how to handle issues. In one of the videos I watched, one of the men kept screaming to the boys, “Confess! Confess!!”. In other words, they were practically forcing those boys to tell them what they wanted to hear, and a failure on the part of these boys to do so would mean that these neanderthals would continue inflicting bodily harm on them. Of course, everybody knows that when you’re tortured to a certain level, you will begin to confess things you didn’t do just to get a bailout.

I sincerely hope that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are brought to book. Jungle justice has no place in the modern world. We cannot continue to live with this nonsense. Enough is enough!!!

  2. People are so heartless and inhuman, they never have a thought that they were once given birth to the wat they those guys were. We youths are the strong of this nation, what do we say about those innocent soul mudered by some cruel unknown gunmen, that’s what we should fight against not our fellow student, afterall, they were not found with arms. May God help us all.
