Nollywood actress Mary Remmy weds Iroko TV boss Jason-photos

 Fast-rising Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy and Jason Njoku, the founder of iROKOtv, the world’s largest Nollywood movies distribution platform online tied the knot at a high-profile, celebrity-packed, star-studded wedding ceremony at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Festac, Lagos on Saturday.

The ceremony anchored by Nollywood star, Charles Inojie was attended by several movie and music industry players such as Mercy Aigbe, Emem Isong, Oge Okoye, Mercy Johnson, 2Shotz and Kokoroko songstress, Kefee who performed a song titled “You are beautiful” live on stage.

The newlyweds met about two years ago and have been engaged for the past six months before getting married. The actress became popular for her role in the blockbuster movie, Blackberry Babes, a four-part movie series about three materialistic women obsessed with their BlackBerry phones which became the most watched movie on Youtube with over 4 million views. Prior to the wedding, she was appointed one of the ambassadors of the iROKOtv platform.

Jason Njoku is known for giving Nollywood movies a new home online and making it accessible for free to movie lovers. He was recently listed on Forbes as one of Africa’s young millionaires to watch and was TechLoy’s Person of the Year 2011.

Cannibal Clifford Orji finally dies @ Kikiri prisons

                 

 

 The story of Clifford Orji is a long one but let me try to summarize it. Clifford Orji was arrested in February 1999 by the police under the bridge at Toyota Bus Stop along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway in Lagos after passers-by noticed his strange activities under the bridge.

Items found on him at the time of his arrest was a cheque for the sum of N88,000, a cell phone, women underwear and fresh and roast human flesh and bones. 

He had roasted one of his victims at the time and eaten part of her flesh. The police believed Clifford was mad at the time he was arrested but there was a theory back then that his madness was fake; that ritualists put him under that bridge to act like he was mad, find victims, kill them and sell their body parts to them.

Thus the cheque that was found on him. His arrest in 1999 was widely celebrated in the media.

Anyway, after 13 years in prison, Clifford Orji, who went completely mad in prison, has died. He died on Friday August 17th in his sleep. He was 46 years old.
